US Army – 2000-2005
During my service as a U.S. Army Military Police officer I gained multiple skills including strategic problem-solving skills and highly effective professional communication skills. As a technician with General Parts I not only use these skills regularly, but they have positioned me to become successful in a quick paced and rapid growing industry.
US Coast Guard – 2010-2015
As a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard, I appreciate the “devotion to duty” mindset of our team at General Parts. In all aspects of our day-to-day operations at the Denver branch, we are devoted to our duty of delivering exceptional service for our customers while maintaining an effective environment of teamwork. The skills I learned while at sea, especially the ability to remain poised under pressure and focused on the task at hand, have certainly helped me in my role as a branch manager in this organization.
US Navy – 2013-2019
While serving I learned how to work solo and as a team to get many complex tasks done in a high stress environment. General Parts has a similar culture of teamwork and excellence.
US Navy – 1999-2008
Every day at General Parts I use the skills I learned in the USN. While serving as a nuclear mechanic, I learned applied mechanical concepts and troubleshooting techniques. Coupled with the leadership training I received, this allows me to lead my team of mechanics, and successfully meet the branches operating goals.
E-3 US Army – 1989-1991
The skills trained in the Army are still in my day to day duties with General Parts. Solving problems, strong work ethic, perseverance, teamwork, leadership and Patience are always on my mind when working with our customers. General Parts gave me the chance to show my skills, knowledge and experiences to our customers on each call. Having a solid relationship with our customers, dealers and sales reps keeps me focused to give 100% every day.
US Army – 1992-97
The Army was able to show me how to work together with a diverse group of people and accomplish goals. Those leadership and teamwork skills I still use today in my role at General Parts.
