Crafting to be the Best

General Parts Group walk-in freezer installation

At General Parts Group, we install several walk-ins each year.  General Parts, in Tucson AZ, recently had the opportunity to install a walk-in freezer for Tombstone High School.  The technicians that installed the walk-in, seized the opportunity to record the care, expertise, training, and quality they practice when on the job site. The technicians wanted to showcase their work; they were the artisan showing off their work.

A great craftsman uses their hands but more importantly their hearts when they work.  It could be any medium but here at General Parts, it is commercial kitchen equipment.  The attitude of, you are only as good as your last job, is fostered in every technician and it is repeated daily. This job is tangible, but most often what we do is not.  This is our product; this is who General Parts is.  We are crafting the best technicians in the industry and we are proud of it!

What you cannot see in this video is a Master CFESA certified technician teaching the love of our industry to a junior technician.  Showing him the integrity of this industry, doing the job correctly, not the fast way.  He is putting his love of what he has been doing for over 20 years and passing the torch to the next generation of technicians.  The Master tech is demonstrating teamwork by using this as a teaching moment.  They are both building trust and value in the local community and the food equipment repair community. They are working safely using correct lifting techniques, ladders, and equipment safety.  The master technician is teaching the core values of General Parts Group.  This is why we are the best and why General Parts has the best people and products.  We are proud of our people and they are proud to be here.

This is just as much about the journey as the destination.  Having great leadership, great technicians and great support staff is only the start.  We all must have a great attitude every day and believe in what we are doing.  This is why General Parts is the best we all have common goals, and we all believe in the team.  We are all on this journey together and together we all make General Parts better every day, and we pass that along to our clients in a job well done.
