CFESA 2021 Conference, Back as Strong as Ever
By – The Editor
The 2021 Commercial Food Equipment Service Association (CFESA) conference 2021 was brought to a close on October 6th. After the Covid related break in 2020 it was certainly good to get back to business and get networking again. The CFESA Conference is an annual event and is without doubt the premier event to attend because it is dedicated exclusively to the commercial food equipment service industry. The conference is held over three days and blends educational, motivational, and social events. Attendees come away with new friends, ideas, and even business relationships all of which helps to power growth and innovation.
General Parts Group has been a member and avid supporter of CFESA since its inception and became one of the first two CFESA certified companies of which we are extremely proud. In keeping with that support, the company sent six attendees including three first time attendees. General Parts believes that exposing new colleagues to CFESA is good for both our employees and the association. CFESA is after all dedicated to the ongoing development of our industry which can only be complimented by the involvement of new people with new ideas. Following our attendees give their own feedback on the event.
“I am very appreciative to have experienced this and will walk away with more respect for the other owner operators. To be included in this has made me want to do more in the industry and I have already filled out an application to join one of the committees to have my ideas heard and give back to the industry I have given a significant chunk of my life to.” Michael – Branch Manager Tucson
“This was my first national conference. It was a great opportunity to see our manufacturing partners that attended, and we have not seen for a while due to COVID. It was refreshing to see things getting back to normal. The conference was a great opportunity to network and understand how the past 1.5 years has put new challenges on us and the different ways they are being viewed and managed.” Doug – Regional Manager, Arizona & Texas
“There were over 60 first timers the largest they have had attend the conference. One of the most valuable things I got out the conference was re-connecting with the manufacturers and talking about the parts issues, everyone is feeling the pressure of backorders. This issue was escalated up to the CFESA committee and has been added as a new task force. The other highlight was the seminar of Women in the Industry and from that seminar the CFESA Committee has created a new task force for called ‘Diversity in CFESA’”. Tina – Director of Purchasing
