Meet OEM Parts Team Lead, Tina Nelson

If you have ever wondered who picks up the phone or answers your emails when you place a foodservice equipment parts order, then please read on? This is the first of a series to showcase the General Parts Group’s, parts department team, who get your orders moving and the part you need into your hands.
Tina Nelson is a Team Lead for the parts department in our Minneapolis location. As a Team Lead Tina manages 5 parts specialists. She also oversees many of the large accounts that work with General Parts.
Before General Parts she worked in retail as well as purchasing at an engineering company and customer service at a Travel Agency, and lastly and toughest of all, being a stay-at-home mom. When Tina decided she wanted to get back to work she applied here at General Parts, and so began the first chapter in her long career with us which currently stands at 23 years.
Tina has worked her way up in our company, from the warehouse to parts specialist, and finally to Team Lead. As a Team Lead, Tina enjoys the variety the position offers, with no two days ever being quite the same. Tina works with various internal departments including purchasing and shipping and enjoys seeing projects through to their completion. With her team, Tina digs into issues and finds solutions to make our parts operation stronger. One of her favorite things to do in her day-to-day is coaching her team how to give the best customer service, she is very customer service oriented, and drives that point home every day.
Tina’s proudest recent work achievement was passing the CFSP (Certified Food Service Professional) course which proves her love and commitment to the foodservice replacement parts industry.
Outside of the office Tina is very active in her community. She has been a boy and girl scouts’ leader, gymnastics club vice president, and ran a ton of fundraisers for various organizations. She has 2 children that have both grown up and active serving members of law enforcement. When she gets some quiet time, she enjoys playing cards, reading, and just hanging out with the family.
