General Parts Group Attends the School Nutrition Association Annual National Conference 2014 Boston alongside Leading Food Service Equipment Manufacturers
What was obvious from the moment the school Nutrition Association Annual National 2014 Boston Conference began was the shear amount of effort that goes into delivering quality nutritious food to our nation’s school children every day. From safety shoes to cup fillers, commercial Combi-Ovens, and healthy snacks, this year’s show had representation from all areas of the food service industry.
An impressive array of food service equipment manufacturers were present with Accu-Temp, Alto-Shaam, Altas Metal, Cleveland Range, Delfield, Eloma, Franke, Globe, ITW/FEG, Lincoln, Manitowoc, Merrychef, Meiko, Metro, Moffat, Ovention, Rational, Thermo-Kool, Unified Brands, Univex, Victory Refrigeration, Sunkist, Vitamix, Vollrath and Vulcan, amongst others, to ensure that the food service parts and equipment industry was extremely well represented. This presented a great opportunity to see how some of our major manufactures were developing and marketing their products for maximum efficiency and nutritional benefit.
General Parts Group used this show to launch our newly redesigned and rebranded booth, which received positive feedback both from our existing customers as well as new visitors. In our booth we were joined by Alconox Corporate Executive Chef, Pete Schellenbach, who helped enormously with product support demonstrating the cleaning abilities of both the Alconox and Citranox products, which are now carried by our distribution division. A lot of interest was shown in both products and many visitors were keen to try the free samples provided. Pete’s reward for his support was the chance to have his picture taken with Robert Irvine of Dinner Impossible; it takes a brave man to stand next to those muscles!
A special mention should be made to Evergreen Packaging whose stand included a giant space rocket made by school children as part of their Made by Milk contest and constructed of over 30,000 milk cartons. Not only was it the most unique booth at the show, it was a great way of finding your bearings and not getting lost!
After three days of sore feet and worn out shoes, the show came to a close. Boston was a great host city and attracted folks from all over the USA who were interested in learning more about food service parts and the restaurant equipment industry. We were glad to have attended this important event and be a part of the Foodservice community that supports the School Nutrition Association.
