General Parts Group Believes It’s Better to Give…

This is the time of year when many people have a chance to reflect on what they have and are thankful for. It’s also an important time of year to consider those that may not be as fortunate as others. The feeling of giving or helping others is gratifying at any time of the year, but around the holidays it seems to take on an even more special meaning. An important part of General Parts Group’s values as a company are being involved and engaged in our local communities and giving back. It’s part of the reason we choose to have a physical office in the markets we serve. We want to employ local people and contribute to the local economy.

How General Parts Group Helps Others

Our commitment to the communities we work within does not end at employing local staff. Just as important are the charitable endeavors we choose to be involved with on a local level. General Parts Group donates a portion of our profits each year to a local charity of the employees choosing, but charity and community involvement does not need to be a cash donation, it can take numerous forms.

Cash donations are wonderful and allow the charitable organization flexibility to use the funds where they are needed most, but just as importantly we’ve also held food drives for local food banks, toy and clothing drives as well as shoe donations. We’ve contributed to drilling water wells or humanitarian visits in 3rd world countries, are regular participants in the RFMA Cares events, Habitat for Humanity and donated our resources to help rebuild commercial kitchens for local charities. We always come away with an enhanced sense of pride and gratitude that we’re involved with these organizations and events and an even greater sense of pride that we’re encouraged to do so.
